Tesagure! Bukatsumono Encore

April. Exactly one year ago, Suzuki Yua (Yua-senpai), Sato Hina (Hiina), and Takahashi Aoi invited Tanaka Koharu (Koharun) to join their "Tesaguri Club". Now, Koharun looks back on the year that was. Over the last 12 months, the four of them thought about many different clubs and postulated an abundance of new wrinkles. Koharun became a member because she wanted to have a high school life that was out of the ordinary and somewhere along the line, her wish came true. But then third-year students Yua and Hiina graduated. While Aoi and Koharun set up the same table in the same place as the previous year so they can invite new students to join, they reminisce about the last 12 months. What kind of new students will join the club this year?

After Koharun and Aoi choose the anime pattern in which time doesn`t actually pass, they`re rejoined by Yua and Hiina, and the Tesaguri Club is back in session. The members discuss whether they get to keep their memories from the first season. In the clubroom, they think of a new high school basketball team, but Yua announces that since this Encore season was suddenly decided on, the animators didn`t have enough time to work on these early episodes, so advises the rest of the members to be still as much as possible. That doesn`t stop Aoi from performing her trademark unconventional moves, though...

Yua delivers the distressing news that the animation studio still hasn`t caught up, so they`ll either have to remain stock-still again or find a new way to get through the episode with limited animation. At the club, the topic is a judo club, followed by a judo-related activity in the gym that embarrasses Koharu to the max!

When the members tackle an "art club", Aoi`s biases come to the fore, but Koharu is delighted when the others create a richly detailed manga outline. Later in the gym, their artistic sense is given full rein!

This time, the Tesaguri club members pick on school volleyball teams, with Aoi`s prejudiced preconceptions again leading to a warped image of that club. Later in the gym, the members actually play volleyball, but can they do it while defending a town made out of blocks as well?

The members ponder the question of why students always have access to the school roof in anime. And can they go up on their own school`s roof? Later at the club, they dissect high school broadcasting clubs and try thinking of new wrinkles to such a club. They also create a compelling potential manga/anime story centering around a broadcasting club.

Koharu finds out that the surveillance cameras throughout the school aren`t really cameras at all, but are still a form of "protection"! Later, the members take on the rugby club, with their usual blue humor and all!

The school`s festival is coming soon, but the Tesagure Club has never officially participated. Koharu`s enthusiasm for somehow getting involved spurs a discussion and what to do is almost decided for them as the band club suddenly can`t participate, but one of their members asks Yua to represent them. And before they know it, the Tesagure Club is on stage, cracking jokes and performing a song that encapsulates their club.

Koharu learns that the best friend of the "main character" knows everything about the girls in school, including an embarrassing fact about her. Later on, the Tesaguri club members take on the "quiz bowl", but when they think of a "new quiz bowl", the meeting becomes a contest of wills between Yua and Hiina!

Yua riddles her fellow Tesaguri Club members, which leads into a conversation about the Sphinx`s famous riddle. Later, they brainstorm a "new athletic festival", and finally attempt to combine riddles and an athletic festival.

The club members quiz a youngish teacher about whether she fits the anime stereotype of a youngish female teacher. Later, when Mobuko and her many sisters sit in on the Tesagure meeting, they tackle two traditional Japanese clubs, kendo and rakugo.

The final episode of Encore flashes back to when Mio first recruited a then-anti-social Aoi and skips around through her first year with the club. In the end, though, it`s the start of another new school year with Aoi and Koharu. What "pattern" will they choose the next time around?
