Synopsis
Thousands of years ago, it was a time of witchcraft and dark magic. An evil sorceress has bewitched the emperor of the mighty dynasty and he has become a mindless puppet. The country is in shambles and evil spirits lurk everywhere. The human world is on the verge of utter destruction. A bold mission is planned by the Confederation of the Immortal Masters. They send a young master wizard to hung down the villains and evil warlocks in the devastated lands.

Episode 1
Taikoubou Is Accorded Project Soul Hunt
The Yin Dynasty is on the brink of destruction as Emperor Zhou is being manipulated by the demonic Dakki and her sisters. So, the Immortal High Council of Mount Kunlun have decided to send Taikoubou, an idiot doushi, and the magical beast Sibuxiang on Project Soul Hunt. Now, Taikoubou and Sibuxiang must "houshin" 365 souls. Along the way, Taikoubou and Sibu meet the Youkai Sennin, Shinkohyo, and his magical beast Kokutenko.

Episode 2
Taikoubou Commits His First Houshin
Taikoubou and Sibuxiang arrive in Chouka, the capital city of the Yin Empire. There, Taikoubou gets so hungry that he ends up eating grass. As a result, he gets stomach pains and flies off with Sibu to find some medicine. The two then find themselves at a village, where they are fixing the roof of the home of a doctor, who gave Taikoubou medicine for his stomach. The village is then attacked by an army of the Yin. Taikoubou takes it upon himself to fight the leader of the army, Chinto.

Paopei Human Appears in Chintou Outpost
Taikoubou and Sibu meet Nataku, the Paopei human. Taikoubou and Sibu get themselves in the middle of the dispute between Nataku and Lisei, Nataku`s father. Meanwhile, Dakki and Emperor Zhou hold a festival with each of the Four Lords. The party gets crashed when the Four Lords speak their minds, which leads to two of the Four Lords to be put to death.

Lotus-Peach War at Chintou Outpost
Taikoubou tries to not only end the bad relationship between Nataku and Lisei, but also persuade Nataku into joining with him. Hakuyuko attempts to free his imprisoned father, Ki Shou.

Ki Shou, Lord of the West, Escapes from Chouka
In the process of trying to liberate Ki Shou, Hakuyuko gets persecuted for attacking Dakki. Taikoubou returns to Mount Kunlun to talk to Genshitenson about the real purpose of Project Houshin.

Raishinshi Calls on Wind and Lightning
Taikoubou meets Raishinshi, a person with bat wings who claims to be a hero in the name of justice. Taikoubou aims to make an ally out of him, but Raishinshi is not going to be easy to persuade.

Empress Kyouhi is Arrested as a Traitor
The duel between Taikoubou and Raishinshi begins. Empress Kyouhi, Zhou`s wife, is put under arrest because she has been accused of sending an assassin to kill Zhou.

Taikoubou is Tested by Youzen
Taikoubou and his friends come face-to-face with Dakki. However, the Dakki they face turns out to be Youzen, a doushi from Mount Kunlun. He wishes to help Taikoubou, but Youzen wants to test him first. Kou Hiko rushes to the imperial palace before anything bad happens to his wife and sister.

Kou Hiko confronts Emperor Zhou and challenges him to a duel.

A Fine Fellow Appears at Rintou Outpost
Kou Hiko runs away with the princes to Rintou Outpost, but is soon hunted down by three assassins. Kou Tenka, the son of Kou Hiko, makes his appearance.

Taikoubou Meets Kou Hiko
Two of Bunchu`s men, Chou Keihou and Fu Lin, use their Paopei to capture Kou Hiko, Kou Tenka, and the young Yin princes. It`s up to Taikoubou and his friends to save them!

Kou Hiko and Bunchu Battle on the High Road
Bunchu blocks Taikoubou, Kou Hiko, the princes, and the rest of the gang from proceeding any further. Kou Hiko and Bunchu then fight one another.

Taikoubou Encounters Ki Shou, Lord of the West
The fight between Kou Hiko and Bunchu is stopped when Prince Yinxiao and Prince Yinhhong decide to be taken back to Chouka. However, Genshitenson has Hakutsuru Doji take them to Mount Kunlun. Taikoubou`s group have made it to Seiki Castle, but Taikoubou himself goes off on his own.

The Seiki Army Marches North
Lord Ki Shou appoints Taikoubou as Seiki`s war minister, and just in time too. Bunchu`s special Sennin group, the Shisei, has come to destroy Seiki. Now, Taikoubou and his rag-tag team will have to stop the Shisei while Ki Shou and the Seiki army head to the North.

The Shisei Are Houshined
Taikoubou and his friends houshin the last two members of the Shisei, Koyuken and Ohma. Meanwhile, Ki Hatsu tries to get Su Kokuko and the North to join the West`s army in the upcoming rebellion against Emperor Zhou.

The Melody of the Chinese Fiddle Drifts in Su Castle
Taikoubou and his friends take a break to recover their wounds from their battle with the Shisei. They later catch up with Ki Shou, Kou Hiko, and Ki Hatsu, who are still trying to persuade Su Kokuko and the North to join Seiki`s forces.

The Brothers Return to the Wilderness
The two Yin princes, Yinxiao and Yinhong, return from their training on Mount Kunlun and show off their new Paopei. Prince Yinxiao tries to force the armies of the North and West into joining the Yin by placing seals on Taikoubou and his friends. Meanwhile, there is a creature wrecking havoc on the people in Chouka.

Taikoubou and company rush to Chouka to do battle with Dakki and her sisters. Glimpses of Emperor Zhou`s past are revealed.

Dakki is Houshined
Emperor Zhou and Prince Yinhong are houshined. In one final attempt to houshin Dakki, Bunchu uses Dakki`s own Paopei, the Bankohan, against her.

Battle at Mount Kunlun
Dakki has been houshined, but her soul flies off to Mount Kunlun instead of the Houshin Platform. What is going on here? It seems that Genshitenson is hiding something, and Taikoubou and crew go to Mount Kunlun to ascertain the truth. However, they will have to get through Mount Kunlun`s defenses first.

Taikoubou is Cornered in Gyokukyo Palace
Youzen reveals that he has only been monitoring Taikoubou all this time. Now, while Hakutsuru Doji (piloting the Hirai-i) takes on Taikoubou`s friends, Taikoubou himself must fight Youzen. Back on Earth, Kou Hiko stops some troops of the Yin Army from increasing tensions.
