Synopsis

Haruka Asahina is a 16 year old high school boy racing F4 cars while staying at Komaki Motors, an auto-body shop in Shizuoka prefecture. Komaki Motors is a family-run shop that regularly competes in F4 with the team comprised of: owner Futoshi Komaki who is also a mechanic, his son Kotarou Komaki, and now Haruka Asahina. Because this is a family-run business, they receive no support usually from any major manufacturers. Haruka Asahina boldly confronts the top teams head-on to get the attention of these revered companies in hopes of making it to the podium himself.

The Man Who Races

Photographer Kouya Madoka is assigned to work a Super GT event, but as he wanders through the support race paddock, his curiosity is piqued by the sheer variety of teams and drivers on display in the world of Formula 4.

An inspired Madoka barges into Komaki Motors HQ and declares he wants to sponsor their F4 outfit, but it quickly becomes apparent that he has no idea how much it actually costs to go racing.

Haruka tracks down Kouya, who has returned to the small town that was ravaged by a tsunami triggered by an earthquake 12 years before.

Now that Kouya has found some form of resolution to the trauma haunting him, everyone's attention turns to Haruka and his goal of standing on the top step of the F4 podium.

After a disappointing conclusion to the last race due to his tires going off, Haruka is determined to do better next time out. Meanwhile, Harunaga is out of the hospital and straight back in the car.
