MARGINAL #4 the Animation

Marginal #4 made their debut at the Universe Festival that their production company, Pythagoras Productions, hosted. They say that they are the "idol group that will deliver a kiss to the end of the galaxy". Their goal is to have a solo live show in the Shooting Star Hall. Though they just took their first step as idols, in "real life" they are still high school students! Atom wants to cherish both the once in a lifetime high school experience and their work, so he tries to form a club with L and R.

The school life of the Marginal #4 members has gotten even more lustrous with the transfer of Rui and the formation of their club. On top of that, they also get word that their new song is ready, so their idol life is going smoothly as well! Or at least that`s what they thought, but Atom seems to be concerned. Apparently he can`t quite grasp the meaning of the new song`s lyrics. He tries all sorts of things to visualize the meaning, but without him getting anywhere, it`s now the day before the recording! Since they also have their physical examinations that day, Atom decides to bring out the ace up his sleeve. What could that be?!

L and R are scheduled to film a commercial for a new pasta sauce. Even though he`s nervous about their first gig with just the two of them, R is intently studying in preparation. L, however, can only observe R with mixed feelings... And then it`s time to record. While the rehearsal went smoothly, all sorts of problems crop up before the main take. As if that wasn`t enough, L starts to act strangely after putting on a ring he found in the studio...

Lagrange Point, a driving force in the industry and senpais to Marginal #4. After finishing their world tour on a great note, the two of them get a rare treat from their manager Shan Satsuki, an entire day off. Meanwhile, the members of Marginal #4 are about to have the cultural festival at their school, and Atom is set on running a booth with their club! However, when they try to decide what to sell, Atom and Rui end up in a seemingly unsolvable disagreement!

Due to a project with a magazine, the members of Marginal #4 are to show off their rooms. Even though everybody brings in a wide variety of interesting pictures, the one that drew the most attention was Rui`s. In a otherwise modern and simple room, there is a strange stuffed character. The rest of the group simply cannot help but wonder why Rui would have something that atypical....

Marginal #4 is steadily widening their reach, but then a suspected love affair of Atom`s gets scooped by a magazine! Rui, L, and R cannot conceil their surprise about the scandal surrounding Atom`s love, especially since he always takes care of the Starclusters. When Marginal #4 is facing their biggest crisis since their founding, their kouhai idol group, Unicorn JR suddenly show up right before their debut?!

L and R have a dream that they made a wish to a genie in a bottle. Though it does happen occasionally that they have the same dream, this time the content of the wish differs and it throws them for a loop. Then Atom suddenly announced that their club is to take care of their school`s lunch break broadcast. With his innately high capacity to adapt, L efficiently takes care of the program`s structure and casting, but it seems R objects to his casting choices...

Marginal #4 are finally going to make their first appearance in a TV show! What`s more, Atom and Rui are going to have the main roles. Of course L and R are in, but even Lagrange Point and Unicorn Jr. join in to tackle the dark suspense mystery with the entire force of Pythagoras Production. Will Atom and the rest be able to stay in character until the end when they are so different than their normal selves?

While riding the train to Pythagoras Production`s joint camp, R remembers the time when Marginal #4 was founded. Even though they are such a tight-knit group now, in the beginning everybody had solo or other group careers and were not looking forward to becoming Marginal #4. So what was the reason that everybody is giving it their all now? The secret past of Marginal #4 is just about to be revealed!

The lessons at the camp for preparing everybody for the joint event, the Big Bang Festival, are nearly concluded. That`s when Shy and Kira suggests mixing up the groups, because making the event a real success requires teamwork that goes beyond the individual groups. While they are going about their days in the new groups, their dance teacher collapses. What are they going to make to get their teacher back on his feet?

After having completed the joint camp, Marginal #4 has developed yet again! However, Tsubasa tells Rui, L, and R that Atom might be leaving the group. With the looming danger for future of Marginal #4, all of them are torn between wanting to stop Atom and wanting to encourage him. On top of that, R happens to see that Rui is secretly writing to a certain place as well.

Only a scant few days left before the joint live show "Big Bang Festival", so the rehearsals are intense as well! That`s when it`s discovered that the wrong CD was sent to the Aerospace Exploration Agency! Atom feels responsible for the group`s dream of "delivering a kiss to the end of the galaxy" and travels to rocket launch site on Tanegashima. He manages to deliver the CD just fine, but then something else was in store for him... As the time for the "Big Bang Festival" is getting closer and closer, all of the Pythagoras idols embark on the biggest gamble ever, following Rui`s suggestion!
