Synopsis
Bunzou High School is welcoming its new first-year students. One of them, Koshiyama Shiki, is chosen to participate against his will in an impromptu fast-buzzing quiz meet by the president of the Quiz Bowl Circle. As a quiet boy who loves reading and doesn't want to stand out, Shiki is overwhelmed, but his classmate, Fukami Mari, is able to hit the buzzer and answer questions before the full question is given. As he watches her, Shiki realizes that there's a point in each question where the answer becomes certain.

Episode 1
Don't You Want to Become a Quiz King?
Koshiyama Shiki, a new enrollee at Buzou High School, is a bookworm and quite the introverted type. He even eats lunch in the school library. But at the ceremony to welcome new students, he found himself volunteered to participate in an impromptu quiz meet by the quiz bowl circle`s leader, Sasajima Gakuto. Shiki knows the answers to all the questions, but it unable to buzz in quickly enough... until he notices a change in his classmate, Fukami Mari, who starts buzzing in to answer questions before they`ve even been read!

A Matter of 0.01 Seconds?!
Having discovered Shiki`s wealth of knowledge and quick thinking, Mari tries to get him to join the quiz bowl circle. Shiki is hesitant, but lets Mari talk him into accompanying her to Sekigawata High School to observe a quiz meet. Inoue Daisuke, who wants to get closer to Mari, also shows up... and it turns out both of them have already been entered in the meet by Sasajima! They`re about to have their first glimpse of the world of quiz bowl...

If You Want the Right to Answer/
The quiz meet between Sekigawata, Miyaura, Asagaoka, and Buzou High Schools has begun. Shiki and Mari have won their way through the first round, but Shiki struggles with some of the most commonly asked questions in quiz bowl, known as "classics." As Mikuriya Chisato of Miyaura High School keeps getting one right answer after another, Shiki is beginning to feel frustrated by his inability to predict the latter half of the questions given. Will he be able to buzz in when it comes down to it?!

A Mysterious Beauty Appears,
Shiki has experienced the fun and profound depths of quiz bowl. As he`s on his way to school with passion for quiz bowl on his mind, he catches sight of Sasajima with a girl on the back of his bicycle. Still wondering what his relationship with the girl is, Shiki and Inoue decide to join the quiz bowl circle. When Sasajima asks them if they have any questions after experiencing their first quiz meet, Mari raises her hand and asks, "How can we win in quiz bowl?!"

Buzou vs Miyaura! Ding!
The girl Shiki met in the library was the same girl that he had seen riding on the back of Sasajima`s bike. The book she left behind has a marker stuck to the page on building quiz bowl buzzer systems. Is she involved with quiz bowl? As Shiki is thinking about all his, Mari tells him they`re having a joint quiz bowl practice with another school today. That school turns out to be Miyaura High, the team that claims Mikuriya as a member!

A. Maid B. Lieutenant Colonel C. Little Devil
As Mari and Kouzuki Yuki are working at their part-time job in Akihabara to earn money for a buzzer set, Shiki and Inoue arrive in the area to train themselves with a quiz bowl game in the arcade. They`re battling against a player called "Second Lieutenant Chisato" when Ashiya shows up, and the pair finds out that their opponent is someone they know quite well. Then a strange, somewhat suspicious character approaches the group...

...Their Past Quiz Questions
Mikuriya`s declaration of war to Shiki rings in his ears: "Don`t forget about the regular meet!" The regular meet is a regularly held quiz bowl tournament hosted alternately by several area schools. This year`s host is Asagaoka Girls` High School. It`s been decided that all the members of Buzou High`s quiz team, so they`re beginning a rigorous practice schedule. Meanwhile, Mari is asked why she got into quiz bowl, and tells the story of how her brother, Fukami Shinji, influenced her love of the activity.

\Greetings/ Asagaoka Regular Meet!
The regular meet at Asagaoka begins at last! In addition to Buzou, Miyaura, and Sekigawata, other participating teams include Yokohama`s Kannami University High School, whose quiz club`s president is Hanabusa Minoru, and Chiba`s Leoneil High School, whose club`s president is Tozuka Koutarou. Then the veteran team led by Ohkura Kunimitsu, the powerful Kaijou Academy, also arrives. Shiki and his teammates take on the first round, a paper quiz, and the second round, a fastest finger contest that divides the participants up into pairs!

High Road x Low Road
Round 2 of the regular meet at Asagaoka reaches its climax! This time it`s Shiki`s turn at the buzzer, and he`s determined to keep winning until he gets his revenge match against Mikuriya. He`s been paired with Sonohara Akira, a Sekigawata Middle School third-year. But in contrast to his cute appearance, Akira is quite a tricky player, throwing Shiki off his stride and bringing an atmosphere of unrest to the meet...

The Unparalleled Super Ace
The intense second round of the regular meet at Asagaoka is over! Murmurs are still echoing in the venue over Akira`s provocative behavior as the contest enters round 3. The players are divided into two groups for a fastest finger board quiz. Sasajima and Mari are in the first group, but Mari is flustered when she learns that Sasajima was once a member of Kaijou`s quiz team. Does it have anything to do with why her brother quit quiz bowl? Her thoughts leave her unable to concentrate on the meet...

Q. Why Do You Answer?
It`s time for the second group in round 3 of the regular meet at Asagaoka! The showdown between rivals Shiki and Mikuriya finally becomes reality, but once again, Akira causes a commotion. Quiz bowl is no more than a game to him. Still, Mikuriya remains calm and proactively buzzes in to answer questions. Shiki also racks up points, determined not to let this match end like his last one. Will he succeed in taking revenge on Mikuriya?!

A. Because the Question Is There!
Round 3 of the regular meet at Asagaoka reaches its climax! Two have already emerged as winners, leaving room for only one more to advance to the next round! Shiki, Mikuriya, and Akira all use their unique abilities to the fullest as the intense back-and-forth battle continues. The contest for a seat in the semifinal round, with each player`s pride on the line, comes down to the final question... Who will emerge victorious?!
